LESSONS

While private lessons are not required to be a member of the group, they are an invaluable part of your experience and we highly recommend setting up a consistent schedule with one of our staff members.

Battery members primarily take lessons from Orion via Zoom or FaceTime, and front ensemble members primarily take lessons from Michael in person at the school. Of course, either of us is happy and willing to work with anyone in the ensemble.

Both Michael and Orion have taught students who went on to march world class drum corps and independent WGI ensembles, study at prestigious music schools such as IU Jacobs, Berkley, Eastman, and others, and their students have earned dozens of gold ratings at state solo and ensemble events.

Lessons will focus on your primary instrument choice, but will sometimes include other options for study as a well rounded high-school percussionist is going to be more effective at all instruments than someone who solely focuses on a single instrument.

Lessons cost $25/lesson and can be paid via Venmo (Michael & Orion) or check/cash (Michael only, Orion lives in Missouri).

Lessons are 30 minutes long.

​

Students are expected to show up to lessons with materials prepared, they should not be used as a time to learn music unless specifically noted by your teacher.
